Roberto Martinez says that he welcomed the show of emotions such as reacting to a substitution fans are not happy with at Everton.
Martinez was asked about the reaction at Goodison Park to Muhamed Besic being substituted against West Brom, which saw large numbers of fans boo the switch, and said that he doesn’t expect us to be happy drawing 0-0 at home with West Brom.
“That was more about my substitution than against Ross,” said the manager.
“Ross Barkley is a player loved by every Evertonian. I think that was just a show of emotions. That’s normal, I welcome that.
“I wouldn’t expect us as a football club to be happy being nil-nil at home to West Brom, it is as simple as that.”
