Barry: Beware the wounded Swiss

Gareth Barry EnglandEverton midfielder Gareth Barry says that the football played by his side last night was one of the best performances of the season.

The Blues were in rampant form against BSC Young Boys in the Europa League 4-1 victory in Switzerland, but the former England man also knows that the home tie will not be as straight forward as we think.

“In terms of the football we played, it was one of the best of the season,” Barry said.

“From the first few minutes, we got the ball down and played, worked some great stuff and were unlucky to go a goal down. Their keeper had made two or three great saves but we responded well from going behind and for the whole 90 minutes we created chances.

“Even before we scored, their keeper had pulled off some great saves and after that he made a few more. Even with 10 men we still created chances and kept going, so it was a great performance all round.

“They [Young Boys] are going to have nothing to lose coming to Goodison.  We have got to be professional, do a job, play like we did tonight and carry it through for the rest of the season.”
