Blues enjoy “Chosen” event

We are Chosen crowd shot 1Evertonians are born not manufactured. We do not choose, we are chosen.  Those who understand need no explanation. Those who don’t understand, don’t matter.

Hundreds of Blues flocked to Camp and Furnace on Saturday 21 February to attend a free event hosted by the Club for ‘Chosen Evertonians’ to mark the launch of Everton’s 2015/16 Season Ticket campaign – We Are Chosen.

The event provided the chance for Everton fans to experience an exclusive evening of street food, beer, cocktails, bands and DJs at one of Liverpool’s coolest venues, with acts including Bill Ryder-Jones, formerly of The Coral, Natalie McCool and known Evertonians The Levons, Go Fiasco and Visitors. The evening was rounded off by DJ Stevie Law.

Fans were also treated to a first glimpse of the Club’s eagerly anticipated promotional campaign film, which depicts the journey of an Evertonian from bump through to adulthood.

In addition to featuring a host of the Club’s top names, including Manager Roberto Martinez, Captain Phil Jagielka, Ross Barkley, Leighton Baines and Tim Howard, the film also starred a cast of true Blues who were chosen to be in the heart-warming film.

An expectant mum, a baby, young fans and a cross section of adult supporters all feature to portray the emotional passage of a typical Everton fan.

And supporters were not disappointed.

One fan said: “I’m moving down south next month and I was thinking about not renewing my Season Ticket because of the distance and all the travelling. But having watched that I’m definitely getting one. I’d just miss going the game too much. Being an Evertonian and going the game with your mates is what it’s all about.”

Another agreed, saying: “The video’s great and really captures what matchday is all about. The bit with Duncan Ferguson just gets you. I really enjoyed it and I think all fans will.”

A delighted guest added: “It’s been a really good night and the Club has done brilliantly bringing all these fans together tonight. It’s exactly what Everton should be doing and it’s good to be a part of it. The music has been good but the best thing has just been meeting so many people I haven’t met before and chatting about Everton.”

Exclusive content on the night also featured special guests and interactive set-ups from Chang, Umbro, EA Sports and Coral as well as prize giveaways including two Season Tickets for the 2015/16 season.

Speaking about the successful event, headliner Bill Ryder Jones, said: “It was great to play to a crowd of fellow Blues, I’ve been talking to Bainsey who said it would be a great event and he was gutted he couldn’t make it because of the Leicester game tomorrow. It was great to be involved.”

2015/16 Season Tickets go on sale on Monday 23 February at 8am. The Club has been keen to reward its Season Ticket holders and reinforce its commitment to ensuring Goodison Park remains affordable for fans of all ages by placing a freeze on ALL Season Ticket prices for the 2015/16 season.

Adult Season Tickets start at £444, with Concession Season Tickets available from £328. Pricing for children under 11* remains at £95 (equating to £5 per game) while Junior Season Tickets (under 16s**) are also frozen at £149 in the Family Enclosure and £199 throughout the remainder of the stadium.
