Everton boss Roberto Martinez says that the Blues find themselves in no different position to any other side in the league yet to reach 40 points.
The Blues find themselves on 28 points with eleven games to go, and the Everton boss was asked after his side’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal whether they were in a relegation scrap.
Martinez said, “It’s always a relegation scrap for any team until you get to 40 points and that’s the nature of our league.
“We’re not scraping for anything, we just want to win games more regularly and create some momentum.
“At the moment, as you can see today the performance didn’t give us our reward and that’s been the case too many times this season.
“We’ve got two options; we either sit down and accept it or we make sure that we carry on with our standards our performances which will turn things.
“Clearly we’re in a situation where until we get 40 points, any team is fighting to stay in the league.”
