Barkley bagged a brace as his side beat Villa 4-0 to prove that “new manager syndrome” doesn’t last too long in the Midlands, but says the team performance was the most pleasing aspect of the win.
“Overall it was a great team performance,” he told evertontv.
“Getting two goals was a bonus but the main thing was getting the three points.
“We have got attacking threat on the counter and in general play, and we have the security from the players at the back.
“The whole team is playing with confidence – we are all wanting the ball. We are taking the last performance into each game as it comes and we are going to keep doing that over the fixtures coming up.
